How do we translate the Bible into Toba?

Ever wondered just what’s involved in translating God’s word into another language?

Our aim is to translate accurately, and clearly, communicating the same message that was in the original Hebrew or Greek text.

We come against many different kinds of problems, including textual, linguistic, cultural, religious and even human error.

Below are some examples, with the solutions that we’ve come up with. Some problems are obvious, while others completely unexpected. And sometimes, what might seem a very straightforward verse turns out to be one of the most difficult and time-consuming...
